Horror!
We ordered a sauna made of timber from the Canadian Hut. Estimated construction time under the contract is May 14-28, 2016. We naively assumed that by the beginning of summer we would be steaming in the new sauna...
On May 14, they brought us and installed the foundation ( screw piles) they worked quickly and efficiently, there are no complaints about the foundation.
The construction team arrived only on May 18, and it began...
It is stated in the contract, and even in the office, that the team must be provided with a sleeping place, access to water and electricity. In fact, it turned out that the workers arrived with one kettle, so they needed a stove, pots and pans. It was very annoying that besides you, strangers were using your kitchen and utensils.
And now the main problem is the construction time!!! By the estimated completion date of construction (May 28), only three lower crowns had been built! Yes, the weather was bad, it was raining, which delayed the construction, but watching the construction process in normal weather, I assure you that even in ideal weather, our two builders absolutely would not have completed it in 14 days.
Then it’s more fun: on June 3, both of our workers left on their own business, promising to return on June 7. We immediately called the company with a question about providing us with another team, since the deadlines were already delayed, and no one was building. The company told us to wait for our team. As a result, on June 7 it turned out that the workers would arrive only on June 9, we are again indignant and wait... But on June 9 we are informed that one of the workers refuses to continue working at our site. Moreover, it later turned out that on June 3 (when they were leaving) it was already clear that he would not return and during these days our second worker tried to find a partner to no avail.
So, on June 9, we find out that we have a team of one person and we are offered a choice: either wait another 3-5 days and change the team, or for 2.5% of the contract amount, be with the remaining worker on a “bring and drop” basis. Since we were tired of waiting, to put it mildly, we agreed to help.
From June 11 to June 20, we helped our builder as much as we could. While working with him, we realized that he had never worked with wood before!!! On June 20, we went to the company with a demand to send us people who know how to build a sauna, we really became afraid of how our unfortunate builder would equip a sauna for us.
On June 21, a new team headed by Vyacheslav came to us, and we realized what professional builders are!!! There is no doubt that this team could have easily completed it in 14 days, they really had EVERYTHING with them, and they know how to work quickly and efficiently.
I don’t know why the manager at the Canadian Hut didn’t like us so much, and why he initially gave us two people who had never built bathhouses before. Vyacheslav’s team completed everything for us in three days, corrected everything they could from what was built earlier, and on June 25 our construction was finally completed!
Result:
1. The bathhouse turned out good, BUT the construction time was 42 days instead of 14 days!
2. Disgusting attitude towards the client! 80% of the contract amount must be paid when the material is delivered, and it seems that then you cease to provide interest to this office.
3. If the company has masters with “golden” hands, like Vyacheslav, why hire unknown people and conduct experiments on clients?
