    2. Preparatory work.
    We prepare formwork from plastic pipes of the length we need. If we make the post with a widening, then we place a garbage bag at the bottom of the pipe and fasten it to the formwork with adhesive tape. This bag will serve as a reservoir for filling the heel of the column.

    Preparatory process

    It is necessary to start construction by determining the depth of the foundation. This factor depends on the type of soil, the level of groundwater and freezing. Depending on this, the columnar base is:

    1. Unburied (up to 50 cm);
    2. shallowly recessed;
    3. Deeply buried (more than 150 cm).

    In the process of preparation, it is necessary to clear the area of ​​debris, level the construction site and calculate the number of columns, taking into account the fact that the piles should be located at a distance of 2 m from each other (the greater the mass of the future structure, the smaller this distance).

    At this stage, it is necessary to provide for the availability of electricity on the site, cut the fittings and pipes to the required length.

    Marking

    The markup is applied in a certain sequence:

    1. Install pegs around the perimeter of the future base, indenting 100 cm;
    2. Using a level strictly horizontally pull the cord between them;

    3. At the intersection of the cord, it is necessary to drive a stake - this will be the center of future pillars;
    4. At this stage, the cord is no longer required, it can be removed.

    The cord will still be needed during the installation process in front of the grillage device.

    Manufacturing technology of the columnar foundation

    Further work will be divided into two stages, each of which requires responsible and step-by-step execution.

    Well drilling and pile installation

    1. According to the markings, wells are made using a drill. The depth of the well should be 25 cm deeper than the freezing level of the soil, and the width should be 7 cm more than the diameter of the PVC pipes. In view of possible collapses, it is not worth drilling all the wells at once, it is better to make them sequentially;
    2. Using a shovel or a special nozzle on the drill, an extension is made at the bottom of the well with a height of 25 cm and a diameter of 12 cm;
    3. A pillow is made at the bottom of the well from a mixture of sand and gravel 20 cm thick;
    4. The pipe is inserted in such a way that its surface almost coincides with the lower plane of the grillage.
    5. Using a level, mark on the pillars the location of the lower part of the grillage and, if necessary, cut off the piles according to the markup;

    The verticality of each pipe must be checked with a level and then fixed.

    Pipe concreting

    1. For convenience, pour the ready-made concrete solution into a container and pour 20 liters into the pipe cavity, it is necessary to raise it by 20 cm. Concrete, spreading along the expansion, forms a heel. Fill the remaining space around the support with soil and carefully tamp;
    2. Insert a pre-welded frame of three fittings into the pipe so that their edge is 25 cm higher than the plastic pipe, if a reinforced concrete foundation is planned. If the bundle will be carried out with a tree, then the reinforcement should be installed below the edge of the plastic pipes by 5-7 cm.
    3. Concrete must be poured in portions, with careful compaction of each layer using a vibrator or a metal rod. In the latter case, it is necessary to act with the utmost care so as not to violate the integrity of the plastic pillars;
    4. Pour concrete mortar until it reaches the level of the pipe;
    5. Completely fill the pipes with mortar, tamp, install a stud with a diameter of 10-12 mm (for a wooden grillage) into the pile and leave until completely solidified.

    So that the solution does not dry out, raw sawdust is laid on the surface of the pillars and covered with polyethylene until the concrete has completely set.

    Possible errors and how to fix them

    If technology was violated during construction work, there may be negative consequences:

    • Incorrect data on the mass of the house and an insufficient number of pillars can lead to a violation of the integrity of the walls. In this case, each pile will have to be strengthened;
    • When the pillars fall through, a dig is made under them and a strip base is constructed, or all the pillars are fastened to each other with reinforcement after raising to the required level;

    Independent production of a foundation from PVC pipes makes it possible to do the work yourself without involving a construction team, which will significantly save financial resources.

    Column foundation device

    A columnar foundation is a foundation consisting of pillars driven into the ground (or flooded). They function as supports. They bear the weight of the structure being built. All load through the pillars for the foundation is transferred to the ground.

    The ends of the supports protruding on the surface are connected into one structure, constructing a grillage. The latter is built in the form of a frame, or a slab fixed on pillars.

    To create supports, various blocks, bricks are used, or concrete is poured into the formwork. The form for the solution is made from different materials:

    • roofing material;
    • asbestos and plastic pipes.

    The use of roofing material is the cheapest option. But its use does not allow pouring piles of the same dimensions. Also, the strength of such formwork is very low: when tamping, the roofing material can break.

    Asbestos pipes as a form for bored piles are much more expensive than plastic ones. They contain substances toxic to humans that enter the body with dust during the cutting of the material into segments of the desired length.

    Sewer pipes are used to create supports for structures of the following type:

    • frame structures;
    • houses from a bar, or processed logs;
    • small and light buildings made of cellular concrete: garages, verandas, sheds.

    There are such types of columnar bases according to the level of deepening of the grillage:

    • buried;
    • low;
    • high.

    Construction of a high grillage

    A recessed type of columnar foundation involves the construction of a grillage below the soil level. A low base is laid flush with the ground, and a high one is built above the ground.

    The grillage is buried in the ground to avoid blowing the building under the floor. In this case, the entire load from the structure still falls on the supports, and not the ground.

    On unstable soils or with the possibility of flooding, the base is made high.

    Plastic pipes designed to create a sewerage system inside and outside the structure are the best option for formwork for pouring a columnar foundation at a price and quality. With their help, the foundation for the building can be quickly erected.

    Advantages and disadvantages of the foundation

    Plastic is a versatile, inexpensive, chemically inactive building material. A columnar foundation made of PVC pipes can be easily erected on your own with minimal knowledge and skills on this issue. The advantages and disadvantages of this design are shown in the table below.

    Column-type base by pouring cement-based mortar on PVC pipes can be built quickly. Plastic formwork has good performance, protects concrete, and is cheap. In this case, all the work can simply be done by hand.

    Preparatory activities

    Construction work begins with the preparation of the necessary tools, the purchase of the required building materials. This is done in order not to be distracted in the future. The construction site area is also prepared accordingly.

    In the process, you will need the following tools:

    • shovels: bayonet, shovel;
    • Bulgarian;
    • tape measure, level, marker, cord;
    • several containers;
    • heavy hammer;
    • a pan or concrete mixer, or a mixer;
    • Master OK.

    You will need the following materials:

    • wooden blocks on pegs;
    • reinforcing bars and wire for their knitting;
    • small gravel;
    • cement (M300 or M400);
    • sewer plastic pipes with a diameter of 110-180 mm, depending on the weight of the structure being created and the number of supports.

    Preparation of a working solution in a concrete mixer

    Inside one column, before pouring, 3-4 reinforcement bars are inserted. The length of the pieces should exceed the same parameter of the pipe by 50 cm.

    The preparation of the territory is carried out as follows:

    • determine the depth of soil freezing at the construction site, the level of groundwater;
    • carry out the cleaning of the site from vegetation, debris, stones;
    • level the surface for construction;
    • mark the place for construction with the help of pegs, cord;
    • note the location of the supports: first the corner piles, and then all the rest.

    Based on the measurements taken, they determine the depth of drilling, the number of pillars, and clearly work out the plan. If necessary, fittings and pipes are cut into pieces of the desired length. The distance between the wells is chosen from 1.5 to 2.5 m.

    Using a concrete mixer and special drilling equipment will greatly speed up the whole process. Pipes are best used for outdoor sewage (orange). At almost the same price as the material intended for laying indoors, they have a larger selection of available sections and is in the range of 110-500 mm.

    Building a base from plastic pipes with your own hands

    The technology for creating a base from plastic pipes is not difficult. You can do all the work yourself. Do-it-yourself PVC pipe foundation is built in the following sequence:

    • in places marked with pegs for supports, wells of the required depth are drilled, with a diameter of 5 cm more than that of the inserted pipe;
    • increase, for example, with a shovel, the area of ​​​​the sole of the support;
    • at the bottom of the hole, a sand-gravel or sand cushion is covered with a layer of 15 cm;
    • in wells, cut pipes are installed according to the level;
    • reinforcing bars with a diameter of 10 to 12 mm are inserted into them;
    • then the solution is poured in 2 approaches: first - a broadened base (for this, the formwork is raised), and then - I concrete the rest of the pipe to the top;
    • after they mount a hinged or pour a monolithic grillage.

    For the erection of a monolithic grillage, formwork is set up and up to 0.5 m of reinforcement is left from the supports. If it is planned to install a hinged structure, then special fasteners are installed on the poles.

    Wells can be drilled all at once, if only the ground is sufficiently stable. When it crumbles, it should first be installed in the holes and poured into the pipes, and then proceed to the installation of the next support.

    A columnar foundation made of plastic pipes is a suitable option for light structures on unstable soils with close groundwater and deep freezing. Its construction, in comparison with the bases of tape and slab types, takes less time, is less laborious, cash costs are also reduced several times.
