Credit card interest-free period of 100 days. Credit card “100 days without interest” from Alfa-Bank

The grace period is the main feature that banks offer with cards. Basically, the Graise Period ranges from 30 to 50 days. In 2019, Alfa Bank is offering a card with a credit limit of 100 days without interest, subject to full repayment of the debt.

Conditions and tariffs for the program

You can apply for one of the types of Master Card and Visa plastic. The user chooses the type of credit card independently.

Conditions for a credit card from Alfa Bank 100 days, current for 2019:

The service fee is divided annually, monthly for Classic - 99.16 rubles, Cold - 249.16 rubles, Platinum - 457.5 rubles. The minimum monthly payment is 5% of the total debt, but this amount cannot be less than 320 rubles.

There is also a limit when withdrawing cash - 50,000 rubles per calendar month; within this amount, no interest is accrued on cash withdrawals. If the size exceeds the limit, then a commission from 3.9% to 5.9% will be charged on the difference, the percentage depends on the type of card. For example, the borrower withdrew 60,000 rubles, for 50,000 there is no commission, and for 10,000 rubles 3.9% is withdrawn - 390 rubles. The SMS notification service is also paid, it is equal to 59 rubles per month, you can also cancel it through the Alfa-Click system or the information center.

All types of cards support PayWave, PayPass (for contactless payments) and “3DSecure” (security technology).

How does Grace period work?

Credit cards with a grace period of 100 days have one significant catch - a minimum payment of 5% of the debt must be made monthly, regardless of the Graise Period.

The grace period is the period during which the bank does not charge interest for using the card, in our case it is 100 days. However, all other commissions will continue to be charged, so the borrower, even without making any drafts, can go into the red.

The Graise Period begins to operate on the next day after the first debit transaction from the account. Logically, this period can be divided into 3 months plus 10 days. However, the payment and grace periods may not be the same. The calculation period begins from the card activation date - it is equal to 30 days. The obligatory payment must be made during the payment period, no later.

Let's look at an example:

  1. The account activation date is December 1. The first payment period ends on December 31, the second on January 30, and the third on March 1.
  2. On December 2, an annual service fee is charged, for example 249.16 rubles. Next, the borrower withdraws 45,000 rubles on December 5. This means that by the end of December he needs to pay 5% of the debt ((45000+249.16)*5%= 2262.458).
  3. The grace period of 100 days will be counted from December 6, which means it ends on March 16.
  4. If the borrower has not withdrawn anything else during the grace period, then until March 16, he will need to make mandatory monthly payments of 5%, plus an annual service fee.
  5. Interest for use will not be accrued if the client repays the full amount of 45,000 (minus the mandatory payments made) before the end of the term 100 days. After full repayment, the funds can be withdrawn again, then a new grace period will apply.

In the above example, all that the borrower will overpay is the annual service fee. i.e. 249.16 every month. However, if you do not meet the deadline, the bank will charge interest for all these billing periods and the card will be turned into a regular loan, in which you need to make a minimum payment according to the schedule.

By the way, you also need to take into account that additional services in the form of SMS and insurance are also calculated monthly and will be included in the amount of the debt.

Requirements for clients

Among Alfa Bank's users there are many young people, as well as people of middle and retirement age. The card may be offered to regular customers as a promotional product with a pre-approved limit. In other cases, the limit and rate are determined individually. By the way, a lot depends on age and income level. Persons under 25 years of age are often provided with an amount of up to 20,000 rubles, this is explained by the fact that at this age there are difficulties with employment and punctuality in repaying debt. But if there are no such problems, then the client can write applications to increase the limit.

  • Russian citizenship;
  • age – from 18 years;
  • the level of permanent income after taxes must be at least 9,000 rubles (for residents of Moscow and Moscow Region) and 5,000 rubles for other regions of the Russian Federation;
  • the borrower must be registered or have a permanent place of work in the location where the Alfa Bank office is located.

In addition, the person must provide one contact telephone number and a landline number from the place of work.

Who can get the card?

Any citizen of the Russian Federation can open a card account if they have permanent registration in the state. However, there are regions in which Alfa Bank does not lend, due to remoteness and lack of offices, these include the Amur region, Smolensk, and Amur regions. However, if a person has a residence permit in one of these districts, but has been living in another city of the Russian Federation for many years and has temporary registration or a permanent place of work in this territory, then there will be no problems. Exceptions are persons living in Autonomous Republics, for example, Crimea or Buryatia.

The registration scheme is as follows via the Internet:

  1. Fill out an online application on the bank's official website.
  2. The bank provides a preliminary decision.
  3. Next, if the answer is positive, then you can go to the nearest Alfa Bank (which was selected when drawing up the application). The responsible manager is required to present all the documents that were listed in the online application form.
  4. If you apply in person, documents may be sent for additional verification, and only after that a final decision will be provided.
  5. After approval, the contract is signed and the card is provided in hand.

The next day after activation, service fees begin to accrue and if there are no own funds in the account, they will be withdrawn from the credit limit. This payment is already considered an expense that must be repaid, otherwise a penalty will be charged.

An interest-free credit card from Alfa Bank can be provided without a prior online decision. The client just needs to contact the branch and leave a request for registration. All formalities for filling out and verifying documents are handled by the loan officer. However, in this case there is one caveat - purchasing insurance (0.67% of the debt). A bank employee can impose or even include this service in the loan by default, whereas in online mode the choice remains with the client.

Necessary documents for registration

The main document without which no loan will be issued is a Russian passport. In addition to this, you can choose from:

  • international passport;
  • identification code;
  • SNILS;
  • driver's license;
  • health insurance policy;
  • a debit or credit card from any bank is accepted as proof of successful client identification through the BKI database.

The chance of receiving a credit card with a grace period of 100 days increases if you provide additional documents. An international passport with notes on travel abroad, a VHI and CASCO policy, as well as an extract from a deposit account indicating the balance (at least 150,000 rubles are accepted) are suitable. In addition, you may need a certificate of income 2-NDFL or in the form established by the bank.

Cards from other banks 120 days without interest

If you cannot conclude an agreement with Alfa Bank, then you can consider alternative options from competitors:

Tinkoff is more loyal to borrowers with a damaged credit history, and does not require employment documents. Post Bank puts forward more stringent requirements for solvency, but they also offer a larger credit limit and a minimum payment of 5%.

Alfa-Bank credit card “100 days without interest” - tariffs and conditions

The Alfa-Bank credit card “100 days without interest” has attractive terms of credit service that attract many customers - 100 days without interest! Who can resist such an offer? But it's not that simple. Alfa-Bank is the largest commercial bank in Russia that knows how to make money. The “100 days without interest” card is a skillful marketing ploy, the product of well-thought-out advertising. It has advantages and elegantly veiled disadvantages. All this is discussed in detail in our article.

Analysis of Alfa-Bank card “100 days without interest”

Correctly, this credit card should be called “100 days without high interest.” The skillfully omitted word made the card a hit on the credit services market. Meanwhile, 100 days is a grace period (LP), during which the client pays a minimum percentage (5%, but not less than 320 rubles) of the loan amount. After the grace period expires, on the 101st day the client will pay substantial annual interest (from 23.99% to 39.99%) if he does not pay the debt in full. The percentage is determined individually when working with each client.

Grace period for Alfa-Bank credit card “100 days without interest”

The grace period of the credit card lasts 100 calendar days. The LP is activated from the moment of making the first purchase (taking out a credit loan). The duration of the LP will countdown until the debt on the credit card is repaid in full. That is, if funds have been deposited into the account, this will not affect the validity of the LP, only if the amount covers the debt completely. Every time the credit card restores its status quo - zero balance or debit - the LP is reset to zero.

Visually the operation of the LP can be seen in the figure below:

Let's comment on the drawing. The settlement time consists of 4 payment periods (time intervals during which the borrower is obliged to pay for banking services and fulfill loan obligations). In the picture you can see that the payment period (PP) time is 20 days. Each period is active for 1 month, so there is an interval of 10-11 days between periods.

Important! If the borrower successfully paid the amount of mandatory payments during the term of the loan, but was unable to repay the debt on time, the bank will charge a penalty for the entire period of using the loan. Missed payments on mandatory payments are penalized by paying a penalty of 1% of the debt.

Step-by-step mechanism for the “100 days without %” card

The numbers will help anyone understand how the “100 days without %” credit card works. For example, let’s take “MasterCard Standard: 100 days without %”.

  • The card is received - the next day after activation, the terms of service begin to work - this is 1190 rubles per year or 99 rubles per month.
  • 10 days after receiving the card, the first purchase in the amount of 100,000 rubles is made - the grace period begins the next day.
  • 30 days have passed since receiving the card - you must pay the mandatory payment amount - this is 99 rubles. The amount will be withdrawn from the credit limit if there is no debit on the card.
  • 30 days have passed since the purchase was made - you must pay a minimum payment of 5% of 100 thousand - this will be 5 thousand rubles.
  • 60 days after receiving the card – the second service fee is paid.
  • 60 days after the purchase is made – the second minimum payment for the loan is paid.
  • 90 days after receiving the card – third payment for service.
  • 90 days after the purchase – the debt in the amount of 90 thousand rubles is covered.

The result is that using the card cost the owner 297 rubles spent on servicing. If the borrower had not covered the debt over the course of the loan, he would have had to pay 23.99% of 100 thousand - 23,990 rubles per annum - for using the loan. In addition, of course, to cover the loan amount itself.

Alfa-Bank credit card 100 days without interest is currently the absolute record holder for the duration of the grace period (100 days - such a LP for the entire validity period of the card). We will look at how to use it to the greatest advantage, and whether there is a catch with this card in a review of its capabilities.

Let’s immediately determine that Alfa-Bank has plenty of variations of credit cards “XX days without interest” - the main thing is to find the one we need in this heap. So, for example, there is also a “60 days without interest” card - it costs a little less than “100 days”, and the minimum interest rate is higher. A grace period of 60 days will not surprise anyone now, so we will tell you specifically about a card with a 100-day grace period.

The main advantage of the card lies in its name:

You can actually pay for any purchases with the card and even withdraw cash, and if you pay off all the debt within 100 days, you won’t have to pay the Bank anything.

It turns out that the card can be used both as a regular credit card for making purchases, and as a kind of “consumer loan”. We'll tell you more about the 100-day grace period below, but for now let's take a look at the card issue categories.
The card is available in several versions:

"Classical"- MasterCard Standard / Visa Classic card:

  • maximum credit limit - 300,000 rubles;
  • the cost of servicing the main personal card is 1,290 rubles per year for cards issued in the usual manner and 990 rubles per year for cards issued under the Bank’s Credit Offer;
  • the cost of servicing an additional card is 990 rubles per year.

“Gold” MasterCard Gold / Visa Gold:

  • maximum credit limit - 500,000 rubles;
  • the minimum credit limit is 10,800 rubles for the Moscow region and 5,000 rubles for other regions of the Russian Federation;
  • the cost of servicing the main personal card is 2990 rubles per year for cards issued in the usual manner and 775 rubles per year for cards issued under the Bank’s Credit Offer;
  • the cost of servicing the main non-personal card is 625 rubles (can only be issued under the Bank’s Credit Offer);
  • the cost of servicing an additional card is 2,490 rubles per year.

  • maximum credit limit - 1,000,000 rubles;
  • minimum credit limit - 150,001 rubles;
  • the cost of servicing the main personal card is 6,490 rubles per year for cards issued in the usual manner and 4,990 rubles per year for cards issued under the Bank’s Credit Offer;
  • the cost of servicing an additional card is 4990 rubles per year.

We have already written more than once that there is no actual difference between cards of the Standart (Classic), Gold or Platinum categories.

Therefore, if a credit limit of up to 300,000 rubles is enough for you, we recommend applying for a “classic” card for 1,290 rubles per year. Its capabilities will be sufficient to perform any operations.

The card can be issued with the PayPass/PayWave contactless payment module, however, whether the card will actually be equipped with this module is unknown. The Bank decides this at its discretion, and the presence/absence of the module does not affect the cost of service in any way. But regardless of whether the card has PayPass/PayWave or not, the card can be added to Samsung Pay / Apple Pay / Android Pay and used contactlessly using a smartphone.

A loan offer from the Bank is an offer in the form of an SMS or an email that can be sent on behalf of the Bank to any current or former client of the Bank or any other unspecified group of persons - all at the discretion of the Bank. If you have received such an offer, it is enough to show this SMS or a printed version of the email to the office. If you do not have such an offer, the card is issued in the usual manner.

The bank may refuse to issue a card or provide a credit limit that does not correspond to what you requested.

At the same time, the Bank may not disclose the reasons for the refusal, but most often such a reason may be a bad credit history. We have already written about how to correct this shortcoming in a special review dedicated to credit histories.

As soon as the card is ready, you will be notified via SMS and invited to your nearest office to receive the card.

How the 100-day grace period works

The 100-day grace period applies to any purchases made with the card, as well as cash withdrawal transactions.

If you repay the Bank the entire amount of debt within 100 days from the start of the grace period, the Bank will not charge interest. Those. You will use the money for free. Agree, more than 3 months of interest-free “spinning” of money is a very attractive offer.

The first grace period on the card begins to operate on the date following the day of the first expense transaction on the card and lasts until the day when the entire debt on the card is repaid, but not more than one hundred days.

Let's explain with an example:

You received the card on November 22, and on November 28 you made your first purchase with the card. This means that your first grace period is valid from November 29th. You can continue to make purchases with the card, but you will need to pay off the entire debt “to zero” before March 9th - this will be the hundredth day relative to November 29th:

But it will not be possible to pay off the entire debt in one payment, say, on March 8 - the day before the grace period.

During these three-plus months of the grace period, you will be required to make a mandatory monthly minimum payment.

The Bank will issue the amount of this payment monthly on the date of receipt of the card (in our example, this is the 22nd day) in the form of SMS, as well as in the Alfa-Click and Alfa-Mobile Internet Banking. Each time you will have 20 days to deposit this money into your card account - the so-called “payment period”. In our example, it will end on the 11th of each next month.

The minimum payment on the Alfa-Bank “100 days without interest” card is 5% of the debt amount, but not less than 320 rubles.

Paying off the monthly minimum payment, as it were, “forces” you to show your solvency to the Bank.

Of course, making a monthly payment goes towards paying off the debt. In other words, paying off your monthly payment reduces the amount you owe. Your monthly payment may not match “penny-for-penny” with that set by the Bank - you can pay much more or even pay off the entire amount of the debt - the main thing is that the amount paid is not less than that indicated in the SMS.

If you do not make the minimum payment within the allotted time, the Bank will issue a fine in the amount of 1% of the debt amount for each day of delay:

It is not necessary to delay paying off the debt until the last day of the grace period: you can pay off the entire debt at any time when it is convenient for you - for example, even the next day after making your first purchase. The grace period ends on the day when the entire amount of the debt has been repaid. A new 100-day interest-free period begins on the day following the end of the previous one. And so on.

If you do not have time to repay the entire debt on the card within the 100-day period, the grace period will end, and interest will be accrued daily on the entire amount of the debt from the moment the transaction was completed.

This percentage is billed to each cardholder individually, but not less than 23.99% per annum and not more than 39.99% per annum, regardless of the card category:

Withdrawing cash from the “100 days without interest” card of Alfa-Bank

Since July 6, Alfa-Bank has improved the conditions for the “100 days without%” card: now withdrawing cash from the card’s credit limit at Alfa-Bank ATMs and ATMs of partner banks in the amount of no more than 50,000 rubles is free:

And only if the withdrawal amount per month exceeds 50,000 rubles, then an additional commission will be withheld:

These changes make the cards even more attractive, because in fact, now the card is also a “stash” for a “rainy day” in the amount of no more than 50,000 rubles!

Therefore, it is conditional, but this card can also be perceived as issuing a cash loan, and the 5.9% commission can be considered a commission for issuing a loan.

We recommend withdrawing cash from the Alfa-Bank “100 days without interest” card only in the most critical, emergency situations. Use the card only for making purchases and do not forget to pay off everything during the grace period.
