Classic card. Registration and receipt of a bank card Registration of a new Sberbank card

Not everyone knows that Sberbank has a debit card that is issued free of charge in ten minutes, it has free service and free Internet banking. But you may not immediately find it on the Sberbank website.

Momentum - free Sberbank card

This is an instant card: an instant Visa or MasterCard card called Momentum. You won’t immediately find it in the “Select card” navigation menu, but if you click “select a debit card” there, you can find it at the end of the list.

Payment system: Visa, MasterCard
Card account currency: rubles, US dollars, euros
Card validity: 3 years
Cost of maintenance and reissue: free
Registration of additional cards: no

What can the Momentum card do?

Yes, almost all basic operations: pay for purchases in stores, including online and abroad, withdraw cash. Among the restrictions are the limit on cash withdrawal from the Bank’s ATM (at the moment this is no more than 50 thousand rubles / per day), the limit on making payments for goods and services (no more than 100 thousand rubles / per day). You can withdraw cash in large amounts at the Sberbank cash desk or at ATMs and cash desks of other banks, but commissions already arise there.

Well, and importantly, it is also a full-fledged Internet bank “Sberbank-Online”, which makes it possible to make free transfers to Sberbank clients and other well-known operations.

How to apply for a Momentum card?

The technology for obtaining a card is simple: come to any Sberbank branch and say that you want to receive a free debit card Momentum. True, a surprise may await you here. 🙂

They say that sometimes a whole council of bank employees gathers, who will begin to dissuade you, tell you that this card is unsafe, and will try to sell you a paid, or better yet, credit card. But be persistent and insist that what you need is Momentum and nothing else. The employees will give up and give you a card (although they say there are times when these cards run out in branches).

The next frontier is ATM consultants. They will try to impose a paid mobile bank on you and insist that otherwise all your money will definitely be stolen. Feel free to refuse and generally tell them that you will do everything yourself without their help. You insert a new card into the ATM, enter the PIN code that you came up with when you received the card, click in the lower right corner (where the services are) and select “mobile bank”, and then the “Economy” tariff. The Economy tariff is free and according to it you will receive SMS messages on your phone about the transfer of money to your card and passwords for debiting money. You won’t receive SMS messages about expenses, but often this is not really that important.

If you do not have Sberbank Online connected, connect it in the same ATM menu.

Why is it needed at all?

All this may confuse you and you may wonder why it is needed? I will answer this way:

Even if you use cards from other banks, sometimes the simplest Sberbank card is simply necessary - half of the country’s population has a card from this particular bank, and in order to send or receive money to someone you always need Sber.

You can, for example, give your teenage children such a card so that they can pay for lunch at school as pocket money.

And in general, this is just a great way to save money with a very high quality of services. You can, of course, pay attention to the “Mir” card, but it is mainly intended and issued only to pensioners, benefit recipients and state employees.

Sberbank is the largest issuer of payment cards. As of December 31, 2016, its share in the credit card market was 42.8%, and the portfolio increased to 427.7 billion rubles. According to statistics, every fourth resident of Russia has a bank debit card.

Analysis of the Sberbank credit card line

The bank offers borrowers 10 types of credit cards for all occasions (Table 2). They are distinguished by a high level of protection, an individual approach to setting limits and pricing conditions.

Sberbank credit cards can be divided into four types:

  • instant;
  • standard;
  • gold;
  • privileged.

If you need money urgently, then you should order an instant card, because you can receive the money on the day you apply. For people with an average income, the best option would be to issue a standard credit card. Gold and privileged cards are issued only to participants in the salary project.

  3. Good credit history.
  4. Must be 21 years of age or older.

Ordering a Sberbank credit card online via the Internet is a little more complicated, as proof of creditworthiness is required.

To apply for a credit card, the borrower must meet the minimum requirements:

  • age restrictions - from 21 to 65 years;
  • work experience - at least 12 months over the last 5 years (at the last place of work - at least 6 months).

As stop factors for obtaining a credit card, one can note the borrower’s low solvency, damaged credit history, high debt load, and a criminal record under the article “Fraud.”

How to apply for a credit card online

The easiest way is to order a credit card through the Sberbank Online system. In this case, the potential borrower will not need to enter passport data, registration address, date and place of birth, since this information was previously indicated when concluding a universal banking service agreement.

The algorithm for ordering a credit card via Internet banking includes the following steps:

  1. login;
  2. go to the “Maps” section;
  3. selecting the “Order a credit card” option;
  4. choosing the type of payment system;
  5. indication of the borrowing limit;
  6. familiarization with the conditions;
  7. indication of personal information (phone number, email address, time to contact a contact center specialist);
  8. activation of the “Order card” option.

The completed form is sent to the bank branch. Subsequently, a call center employee contacts the client to clarify formalities.

Important! The selected credit limit can be reduced by the lender unilaterally. Its value is primarily influenced by the financial stability and solvency of the applicant.

You can also apply for a credit card on the bank’s official website. Clients who have access to the Sberbank Online Internet bank are automatically redirected to their personal account. The rest need to provide a contact phone number and fill out online forms.

Ordering a card online saves a lot of time. Sberbank offers the most convenient terms for issuing a card, which sets it apart from its competitors.

The percentage of refusals to citizens who apply is not high. They can say “no” for the following reasons:

  • the applicant does not meet the requirements set by the financial institution for clients;
  • the client already has a sufficient number of plastic cards (restrictions are individual);
  • The applicant appears on the bank blacklist.

Requirements put forward by Sberbank to clients

Additional features

The advantage of plastic from Sberbank is that its users have access to all the latest technologies in the banking market.

Hello, friends! I invite you to get acquainted with a review of another banking product from a lover of comparative tables and in-depth analysis. This time the focus is on the Sberbank debit card. Bet you have one of these in your wallet?

According to the Central Bank of the Russian Federation, in recent years there has been a steady increase in the issuance of bank cards by all credit institutions. For example, during the period from October 1, 2016 to October 1, 2017, the production volume increased by 16,262 thousand units. Of these, 88% are debit cards, and only 12% are credit cards.

Sberbank remains the most popular bank among the Russian population. Therefore, today we will talk about debit products, and specifically about the Sberbank debit card. Why about her?

When I needed to get a plastic card, I asked myself 3 questions:

  1. What means do I prefer to pay for daily purchases: with my own or sometimes with borrowed money? Answer: our own.
  2. When I don’t have enough money before payday, do I prefer to cut expenses or borrow from friends and family? The answer: cut costs.
  3. If unexpected expenses arise, do I prefer to borrow or use accumulated funds? Answer: use savings.

The answers left me with no choice: I only need a debit card. There was only one question: which one exactly?

I wrote earlier, . Therefore, I am familiar with the terminology.

I don’t fall for loud advertising campaigns on the Internet, I don’t feel nostalgia for the past when there was only one bank in the country, and I’m not tempted by the lucrative offers of telephone campaigners. I took a different route: I studied the official websites of banks that offer debit payment methods for individuals. I considered all their pros and cons.

I think that my review will help you make the right choice, which is based only on cold calculation and not on emotions. In the article you will not see my subjective preferences, because each of us has our own goal for purchasing a plastic wallet. Here are only real tariffs, terms of use, cost of service.

Types of Sberbank debit cards

Today Sberbank offers the following types of cards:

  1. Classic (Visa, MasterCard and MIR).
  2. For travel (classic, gold and premium Aeroflot).
  3. Youth (Visa, MasterCard).
  4. Pension WORLD.
  5. Gold (Visa, MasterCard and MIR).
  6. With big bonuses (Platinum Visa).
  7. With individual design.
  8. For charity (classic, gold and platinum “Give Life”).
  9. Instant (Visa, MasterCard).
  10. With the Troika transport application.

Of these without annual maintenance: MIR pension card and instant cards. Only a pension card is issued with interest accrued on the account balance. And everything from the presented list comes with cashback (if you connect to the “Thank you from Sberbank” program), i.e., with a refund of interest (bonus accrual) for purchases.

There are 25 species in total. How to choose the one that meets all requirements and expectations? Read on and find out everything about the tariffs, conditions and cost of service.

How to open a card: where, how much it costs and production time

A debit card can be ordered at any Sberbank branch (17,493 branches in 83 constituent entities of the Russian Federation) or online by leaving a request on the website. This can only be done by a citizen who has permanent or temporary registration on the territory of the Russian Federation (from 14 years old independently or from 7 years old for an additional card with the consent of legal representatives).

You can submit an application in two ways:

1. Personally visit a Sberbank branch, fill out an application at the bank and conclude an agreement.

Advice from my own experience: it is better to choose a branch in the area closest to your place of residence or work. If problems arise, you will need to go exactly to where you received the payment instrument. For example, my registration changed, and now, in order to replace a card or resolve some issue, I have to go to the other end of the city.

2. Apply online. To do this you need to go through 3 simple steps:

  • fill in your full name in Russian and Latin letters, email and mobile phone;
  • enter passport details;
  • select the address of the bank branch where you will pick up the payment instrument.

After approval of the application, you must come to the bank on the appointed day and receive the card.

If you apply via the Internet, you must wait for an SMS or phone call that the card is ready. Again, speaking from personal experience, I warn you that this does not always work. After a long wait for the treasured message, I had to find out this information myself.

The card can be opened in rubles, US dollars and euros for a period of 3 to 5 years (depending on the type). There is no registration fee. The answer to the question of how long it takes to make a card depends on its type. Unnamed (instant) ones are issued immediately. The rest - on average from 10 to 14 days.

How to use a Sberbank debit card

Activation

When you receive a plastic card, you are given a PIN code in a special envelope, or you come up with it directly at the bank during registration. The bank will activate it no later than the next day after receiving the card. You can do this yourself. It is enough to make a transaction at an ATM or payment terminal. If the PIN code was set at the bank (without an envelope), then the card is activated immediately.

How to pay for goods or services

When paying in a retail chain, you must notify the cashier that you will be paying with a card. Insert it into the payment terminal and enter the PIN code. If the card has the function of a contactless payment system, then you just need to bring it to the screen. The cashier may ask you to sign the check. And in case of payment for a purchase more than 1,000 rubles. You will need to enter your PIN code.

When paying for goods or services online, you will be asked to enter your account details. After this, you should receive an SMS to confirm the payment.

Is it possible to go into the red with a debit card? Of course you can. This is called a technical overdraft. Read more about this phenomenon in my article. An overdraft is the provision of funds by the bank to pay you for an amount that is not in your debit account. In simple words, you become a debtor to the bank. This often occurs when making payments abroad due to differences in exchange rates.

How to top up a debit card

Sberbank offers several options. Choose the method that is convenient for you:

  1. Through an ATM.
  2. From one card to another.

How to close a card

If you no longer want to use your Sberbank debit card, you must contact the branch and write a statement refusing to use the card. In a month the account will be closed. If there is money left over, you can:

  • withdraw cash after account closure,
  • transfer to any other means of payment using the details specified in the application.

After completing the application for closure, all cards linked to the account are blocked. They cannot be unlocked.

Now it's time to move on to specific tariffs. For analysis I chose the most popular ones:

I want to consider the advantages and disadvantages of each type. I liked conducting the analysis and presenting its results in the form of a table so much that I caught another one.

  1. Many ATMs and branches in any city in Russia (and abroad too). No problems with cash withdrawal.
  2. Convenient mobile application.
  3. Contactless payment system.
  4. The ability to link a card to the Yandex Money e-wallet, which is of great importance to me as a freelancer.
  5. Most citizens own a Sberbank card, so there are no problems with transferring and receiving money from one to another.
  6. You can connect the Piggy Bank service, then part of the money will be automatically set aside.
  1. There are always queues at the ATMs.
  2. There is no service for calculating interest on the account balance.
  3. Sometimes the system crashes. For example, they do not notify you when the card is ready.
  4. Territorial attachment to the bank branch where you received the card. Therefore, with any problem you have to go there.
  5. A very tedious procedure for confirming large payments. You have to answer a number of questions over the phone, some of which are really annoying.
  6. Unattractive bonus program. That's all I can say about her. You receive virtual bonuses that you can spend only in partner stores.
  7. Small cashback (half a percent of the purchase amount).

I analyzed it some more. This bank also has its advantages and disadvantages. Sberbank is supported by its history and reputation as a large, reliable bank with a state guarantee. But he also loses very seriously in some positions (for example, ignoring such a service as calculating interest on the account balance). I will analyze further...

I really want to know what advantages and disadvantages you see in Sberbank cards. Share in the comments. Then my article will be supplemented with your experience and reviews.
