How to pay off a loan on a Sberbank card. Sberbank credit card redemption

Most people actively use such a tool for calculations as a credit card. In most cases, getting a new card is very simple, as well as using all its advantages, including borrowed funds from the bank. But in this case, it is important to comply with the terms and conditions of repayment on a Sberbank credit card. As a rule, the debt is paid equally. You just need to replenish the account on time and that's it.

In fact, each credit card may have its own payment features. In most cases, it already depends on the owner himself. After all, the bank can not only individually calculate the limit and rate, but also put forward certain rules regarding the payment of the debt. This happens often, so let's talk about what are the repayment terms for a Sberbank credit card.

What should you know?

First of all, if you are a cardholder with a limit, then you should always be aware of how much debt and monthly you have. This is necessary so that you can plan your budget taking into account payments.

Speaking specifically on the Sberbank card, this amount can be clarified at any ATM. But today, plastic owners are actively using the possibility of remote access to the account. These are - Mobile Bank and Sberbank online. Thanks to these applications, you can quickly find out not only about the total amount of debt, but also the amount of the minimum contribution. You can also check the entire history of transactions that have ever been carried out on the card.

Well, now it’s worth talking about what are the repayment periods for a Sberbank credit card and payment methods.

Deposit money at least one day before the payment date, as the account is replenished not instantly, but within a day.

How to deposit money into an account?

There are two main methods:

  • Payment of the spent amount back to the account within 50 days (grace period);
  • Making minimum monthly payments. The smallest contribution must be at least 5%.

Undoubtedly, the first method is the most profitable, since then you will not have to forgive the interest. But not everyone manages to fit in this period. Moreover, the rules for obtaining a grace period by withdrawing cash from an ATM are often violated.

Basically, such a procedure does not imply a grace period. But the second option is also not so bad. Moreover, you can pay the amount in small installments, which often does not even affect the budget. But this method is more expensive both in terms of money and time.

The loan term on a Sberbank credit card is not limited by anything. Even if its validity period expires, after receiving a new plastic, payment can be made further.

It is worth saying that the main part of the minimum payment is interest, so the principal amount is repaid slowly, which significantly increases the repayment time. Therefore, it is better to always contribute a little more than is required.

There are no specific restrictions on the maximum amount. It is in your best interest to pay more, since the overpayment in such a situation will be less.

Treat your responsibilities responsibly and carefully

When paying off any loan, it is very important that there are no delays. If you do not make a payment on time, the bank will charge a fine, that is, the interest rate will be increased. At Sberbank, it usually gets higher by about 10%. Agree that this is quite a lot. Moreover, late payment of the bill is fraught with damage to the credit history. This may subsequently cause you to be denied a loan in any other institution.

By the way, it is possible that if the conditions are violated, a loan from Sberbank may become the last one in the next 15 years. Even if you are approved for a loan elsewhere, you can not hope that the conditions for it will be favorable. To prevent such an outcome of events, pay on time. And in order not to forget about it, including a notification about SMS, and then a few days before the payment date you will receive a "reminder".

Mobile bank. This application allows you to pay from your mobile phone. The scheme is the same as in the computer version, but first you need to install the program on your phone.

If the card is linked to the phone, then paying your loan is even easier. Type a message with the text "Credit account number payment amount" and send it to number 900. In a few seconds, money will be debited from the debit card and transferred to the credit card account.

Cash payment. This is the most popular payment method. In fact, it often takes a lot of time. You can deposit money using an ATM, terminal or cashier.

From here it becomes clear that if you have a Sberbank credit card, then the conditions for its payment are quite simple. The main thing here is to pay on time.

Loan repayment terms

You can pay off a debt on a Sberbank credit card at any convenient time in several ways (online, at a bank branch, through a terminal or ATM). In case of delay, it is allowed to deposit money in any amount, but not less than the amount of the mandatory payment.

Advice: you can clarify information about the transactions performed, the amount of debt, the date of the mandatory payment at any time of the day, using the bank's report service to e-mail or regular mail, an SMS notification to the client ("Mobile Bank"), when calling the Sberbank Contact Center number or using service "Sberbank Online".

Before using a credit card, a bank client should clearly understand what a mandatory payment and a grace period are. This will make the use of the loan product profitable and simplify the debt repayment procedure.

After making the first purchase or payment, the client starts a grace period for crediting, which lasts up to 50 days. In order not to accrue interest for the use of borrowed funds, the spent amount must be paid before the payment date in the card account report. But this only applies to payment transactions, and if you withdraw cash, the grace period will end. According to the terms of the bank, the system for using a credit card operates in such a way that the grace period is divided into several stages:

  • period for purchases (beginning of the 30-day reporting period);
  • debt repayment time - 20 days (this is the end of the reporting period, it includes 3 payment dates, before the expiration of which the client must repay the debt or make a mandatory payment with subsequent interest accrual. By the way, if you pay the amount partially, interest will be charged only on the amount of the actual debt ).

Then you will have to repay at least the amount of the monthly mandatory payment, which depends on the amount of the debt (it is 5%, but not less than 150 rubles), and interest for the delay. In case of untimely or incomplete repayment of borrowed funds, you will have to additionally repay the amount of exceeding the credit limit, accrued interest for the use of bank money (in case of delay or cash withdrawal), penalty if the mandatory payment is not made on time.

If necessary, the client can issue, but in the case of using a credit card for late payment of interest or the minimum payment, interest will be charged in any case. And if you return the spent credit funds on time (this does not apply to cash withdrawals) before the payment date indicated in the report, then you can use the card free of charge and without interest. On the part of the client, you only need to pay for the service of the credit card.

There are several ways to pay off your credit card debt.

  1. Cashless:
  • transfer from a Sberbank debit card (this can be done via a cellular phone using the Mobile Bank service - send an SMS to number 900 with the text: “Transfer - 5 last digits of a debit card - 5 last digits of a credit card - transfer amount without kopecks");
  • using the Sberbank Online service;
  • through a terminal, an ATM of a financial institution (money must be credited no later than the next business day);
  • by making a wire transfer through another bank or at a branch of Sberbank (in the purpose of the payment, the owner’s card and account number, first name, patronymic, last name, details of the Sberbank branch must be indicated), but before that, it is important to clarify the cost of the service, the terms for crediting funds;
  • using the MasterCard MoneySend, Visa Payments and Transfers services through a terminal, ATM.
  1. Cash payment:
  • at a branch of Sberbank (by card or account number);
  • through the terminal, ATM with the function of receiving money.

Advice: if the amount of the mandatory payment is not made on time, it will be added to the total amount of the debt in the next month and additionally obliged to pay a penalty for the entire period of delay in payment.

Grace period

The conditions for repaying a loan on a Sberbank credit card should be disassembled from the main criterion - the grace period - the time when interest for the use of funds is not charged. The grace period for Sberbank credit cards is no more than 50 days.

At the same time, it should be taken into account that the obligation of the borrower includes the mandatory making of the minimum payment previously specified in the agreement. The grace period gives a guarantee to the borrower about an interest-free loan - the holder of a Sberbank credit card can deposit the entire amount spent during the established grace period without overpaying interest.

Credit cards provide for the renewal of the grace period - as soon as the money is fully received on the card, the borrower has the opportunity to use the funds again without paying interest.

The grace period starts counting from the day the card goes negative

How to close a credit card

It is important to know exactly how to properly close a credit card in order to avoid charging "extra" interest. To close, you should contact the Sberbank branch, which is often neglected by the borrower, preferring to throw away the credit card. According to the signed agreement, the credit card is the property of the bank, so the holder is obliged to return it.

To begin with, the borrower must find out the amount of debt on a credit card - banks close the card only if they are fully settled with them.

There are several ways to find out how much you owe:

  1. Take a check from an ATM - the check will indicate the amount of the balance.
  2. Call the customer support service, where you can ask an employee for any information of interest about the amount and closing of a credit card.
  3. Go to the branch of Sberbank, where a credit card was previously issued. When applying, you must present your passport, contract and the credit card itself.

It is not necessary to apply to the branch of the bank where the contract was drawn up and the credit card was issued. You can go to any office closest to your home, where the manager will announce the amount of the debt and instruct you on closing the credit card. After paying off the debt, the borrower must write an application to close the credit card. The procedure for closing a credit card takes a few minutes, but the contract with Sberbank will be terminated only after 30 days.

The borrower should carefully consider the closing procedure. A bank employee must cut the plastic in front of the cardholder. All papers are drawn up in full accordance with the instructions. For your own safety, you can request a visa from the Sberbank employee who closed the card.

If you have your own funds on the card, the application should indicate the account and other details for the transfer, what will happen after 30 days from the day the card was closed. At the same time, it is better to contact the bank again and take a certificate of termination of the contract. The borrower should carefully monitor the notification by SMS and the disconnection of Internet banking services.

What is important to know

Each credit card holder must keep a record of the amount owed and minimum payments made. This is necessary for him himself - so he will be able to correctly allocate his budget and make timely amounts to pay off the debt. You can find out the amount of debt through a Sberbank ATM by asking him for a check.

It is also convenient to use services for remote account management - Mobile Banking or Sberbank-online. With the help of the presented applications attached to the credit card, you can find out the entire history of the account. The convenience of using credit cards from Sberbank lies in the regular provision of postal or e-mails about the status of the account and the debt on the balance.

There are two ways to pay off credit card debt:

  • The first is to fully repay the amount spent from the card during the grace period, which is no more than 50 days in Sberbank. During this time, interest on the use of funds is not calculated. But you should take into account the fact that cash withdrawals are not an interest-free return.
  • The second way is to repay the loan with minimal monthly installments. At the conclusion of the contract, this amount is indicated as a percentage, often 5% or 10% of debt. Often this amount is small, which makes it easy for the borrower to repay the debt.

The only negative point in the method of paying off debt in small monthly payments is a small part of the principal debt. A large amount in the payment is intended to pay interest on the use of funds. This entails an increase in the repayment period of the debt on the loan.

The borrower must know how to pay off credit card debt so as not to provoke the accrual of fines and other fees

Debt payment methods

Now you should deal with the question of how to repay the loan.

There are several options offered by Sberbank for the convenience of the client:

  • Using Third Party Channels
  • The borrower can use a wire transfer through a third-party company - Euroset, Svyaznoy, Rapida or Eleksnet. In the presence of an electronic wallet, the Qiwi payment system is popular. You can also transfer money through the Russian Post.
Cash It uses ATMs, terminals, cash desks of Sberbank. Among the positive facts, one can single out the borrower's confidence in repaying the debt - a check is issued at the cash desk or terminal on depositing the amount and the balance of the debt. The disadvantages of the method include the duration - the queue at the cashier or the search for an ATM.
Bank transfer We are talking about the participation of third-party banks or the enterprise-employer of the borrower. In this case, it is necessary to write an application at a bank branch or in the accounting department for the transfer of a certain amount. The application shall indicate the account number and additional details of the bank. Such a transfer entails the payment of a commission.
Transfer from a debit card or personal account
  • If you have a debit card or a deposit in Sberbank, you can use a cashless transfer, which is carried out through a terminal, ATM, Internet service or mobile bank.
  • Among the advantages is the ability to transfer funds at any time, as well as the ability to connect a free auto payment service. As for the shortcomings, only the obligatory presence of the amount of money necessary for transferring on a debit card or personal account is highlighted here.

A credit card holder can also use Visa and MasterCard MoneySend services if they have cards of third-party banks in the form of Visa or MasterCard.

Terms of repayment of a loan on a Sberbank credit card

The conditions for repaying a loan on a Sberbank credit card can be summarized as follows:

  • Using a credit card implies a grace period, which in Sberbank does not exceed 50 days. During this time, the debtor can return all the money spent without commissions or interest. The grace period is constantly renewed - it is enough to pay off the debt, and the system starts the calculation again.
  • When applying for a credit card, the contract prescribes the method of repaying the debt - full or partial. The full one is characterized by the payment of the spent amount at a time, while the partial one implies the calculation of the minimum monthly payment, which is paid by the client at the set time (selected independently).
  • Debt repayment can be through the internal system of Sberbank, by depositing cash or by making a cashless payment. In both cases, you can use terminals, ATMs and cash desks of the lender's offices. Cashless transfer of funds is possible from a personal account or any other card of the borrower.
  • If you are located far from offices or ATMs, you can use third-party companies that transfer funds to a Sberbank credit card. Here, the Qiwi payment system, Euroset, Svyaznoy, Rapida and Eleksnet are distinguished.

For all questions about paying off debt on a Sberbank credit card, you should contact the nearest branch or call the customer service. You can also find the necessary information on the official website on the Internet. Here, an application is left for consultation, on the basis of which a bank employee will contact the client.

The process of paying off debt on a card with a line of credit is fundamentally different from the procedure for closing any other bank loan. When applying for a conventional loan, the borrower receives a clear repayment schedule, which he must comply with. Credit card repayment does not imply a schedule, the client himself regulates the process and the amount of payments. And every cardholder with a line of credit should become familiar with the process of closing debt.

Amount of monthly payment

As in the case of any other loan, the minus on a credit card must be repaid by making monthly payments. But banks do not set a fixed amount of payment for this product: the borrower regulates the amount himself, paying amounts that are convenient for him. At the same time, the bank indicates the limit of the minimum monthly payment, which the product holder must comply with.

Each bank sets its own minimum payment. For example, there may be such options for its calculation:

- 5-10% of the total debt, but at least 500 rubles;
- 5-10% of the principal debt plus the amount of interest accrued per month;
- a fixed fee, for example, not less than 3000-5000 rubles per month.

Important! The bank sums up for each reporting month and indicates to the borrower the amount of the minimum allowable payment. For example, for March you need to pay before April 20, for April transactions until May 20, etc. The bank closes the reporting period (month), generates an extract and waits for the payment to be made.

It is better not to do the calculations personally - you can misinterpret the algorithm for calculating the minimum monthly payment. If you pay less than the due, it will be regarded as non-payment, the bank will apply a penalty.

Use Internet banking, connect the SMS informing service. These services will help you always keep a "hand on the pulse." The bank will inform you about the minimum amount you need to deposit at the end of the reporting month.

Pay more than the minimum amount!

Credit card repayment terms allow you to pay off the minus gradually, making only small amounts close to the minimum. But if you stick to just such a scheme, your debt will decrease extremely slowly.

The monthly payment on a credit card consists of the amount of principal and interest. If we consider the minimum payment, then it mostly consists of interest. That is, if you adhere to the minimum bar, you will pay off the main debt extremely slowly, the debt will practically stand still.

Many borrowers pay off their debt with minimum periodic payments, and then blame the bank for not reducing their debt. Everything is logical: the citizen repays the interest accrued during the reporting month, and the amount of the principal debt practically does not change.

Important! Don't stick to the minimum monthly payment, pay more. Thus, a large amount will go to pay the principal debt. This means that over the next month the bank will charge less interest, the overpayment will be lower, and more profitable.

Credit card maturity

The same scheme applies here as with conventional lending. The bank indicates the date by which the next payment must be made. For example, the 22nd of every month.

When choosing a method of depositing funds, keep in mind that not all of them involve instant transfer of funds, then you need to pay in advance. Money is instantly received when paying through a cash desk or an ATM of a bank serving a card, Internet banks, through card-to-card transfer services. In all other cases, the operation can be performed within 1-3 days.

The bank does not provide for an exact term for paying off debt on a credit card: this is regulated by the borrower himself. You can “drag out” the case and pay off the debt for years. Or you can make higher payments and deal with debt in a couple of months. In addition, given that the card limit is renewable, it is impossible to determine the exact maturity date.

Repayment within the grace period

If the bank connects a grace period to the credit card, you can use the loan line free of charge. Pay in full to pay off the credit card, pay off the debt in full before the end of the grace period, then the lender will not charge interest.

What you need to know about the grace period:
- standardly lasts 55-60 days, some banks issue cards with a discount of 100-120 days;
- the benefit applies only to non-cash transactions. Cashing out and making transfers do not fall under it;
- It is important to comply with the deadlines. Each bank interprets them in its own way, be sure to check with the bank the exact end date of the interest-free period.

How to close card debt early

At any time, you can completely close the debt on the card. To pay off your credit card early, contact your bank and find out how much you owe today. Put this amount on the card and wait for the next monthly payment to be written off. After that, the debt will be canceled. The specificity of the product is such that next month the bank can charge interest if the debt has flowed into the next reporting period. Close this one too.

Remember that paying off the debt in full is not closing the card. You will still have to pay for maintenance, SMS notifications and other services. If you do not need a card, contact the bank and write an application for its closure.
